Product Description The battery-powered Pocket Rock-It V1b allows you to practice silently in any location, and have great tones at your disposal. The rotating input plug has 90 degrees of motion, so the V1 can plug into any bass guitar jack - no cable needed! Two "big" and two "tite" settings, with separate settings for active and passive pickup simulation give you tons of tone versatility. The Filter control is a continuously variable EQ that adjusts high and mid-range frequencies of the amp emulation model selected. If you do decide to let the rest of the world in on your V1b sessions, use the line out for recording or preamp applications. Jam with your CDs or MP3s with the line in.Designed, developed and engineered in the USA.

| Customer Reviews: Good value for the money all things considered... March 1, 2010 Bruce A. Smith 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
In a nutshell, I was looking for a good sounding headphone amp to use at those times where I really didn't want to bother others or just wanted to play somewhere there wasn't an amp. I tried this unit and here it is from my perspective for whatever it is worth.
1. The unit is inexpensively made (vs cheaply), if you are a little careful, it should last.
2. The unit and its adjustable plug (Approximately 30 degrees per ratchet) allows versatility... but if feels awkward, clumsy, and very bulky when attached to the bass in my opinion.
3. The sound is OK, I think anyone who complains about it should:
a. Ask themselves what the purpose of the unit is and how tweaked for their amp their bass is. In my case, using the built in switches I can get a decent sound (albeit not great by comparison to my Bass Amp) with minimal tweaking.
b. How good are your headphones? If they are comparable to a set studio headphones, or a set of the Bose around ear noise reducing phones, then compare notes. Otherwise...wake up and smell the roses.
4. One MAJOR drawback is that the ON/OFF switch is the pushbutton toggle so you have to be very careful it isn't turned on without you knowing it. A slide switch would have been better I think in this case...
Now some possible work arounds:
2(a) In this area I purchased one of the Pocket Rocket V2 bags, got a straight coupler and a 10 foot straight/angled cable (I prefer the angled because my plugs are all on the edge of the Bass and not recessed). I zip-tied the cable unit above in place and plugged the amp in the top. Believe it or not it makes for a tight and useful package that can be used attached to a belt or with the shoulder strap, and doesn't put any additional stress on the instrument plug like the unit would by itself ...
4(a) For this I simply coil the cable and put that in front of the switch so it is harder to press by accident. Another advantage of the bag is that there is a compartment in the front where you can carry a spare battery (or two).
Overall, a very workable unit that is lots of fun away from the house (and a plug in type of amp).
Very dissapointing product September 29, 2008 jeffrs (S. NH) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
This is a really poor product and I regret purchasing it. The turn-on logic is backwards - a quick touch of the power switch turns it on, but to turn it off you have to hold it down for a couple seconds. If you buy this then get rechargeable batteries because accidental turn-on is inevitable. There are high pitch artifacts in the sound. Something is intermittent inside so I will have to take it apart and repair it. The physical shape is awkward and you can't see the LEDs / access the controls when it is on the guitar. They spelled FILTER wrong!! (it says FILFER). Their web site doesn't have any contact information (but they are on yellowpages.com).
