you'll need to take them apart and stiffen them up a little and add new dampening if you really want them to sound nice. They tend to buzz on the low end. Take a look at [...] for dampening materials and stuff. Other than that, For under 200 bucks, you totally can't go wrong with these

Oh my god. I originally bought a pair of Gem Sound TR-150's last year when I saw that these were discontinued, since they were my first pick. I went on Behringers website about 3 months ago and to my delight found that they had re-continued just the three-way S1530 from the S-Series. I immediately got the Gem Sounds up for sale, sold them, and got $180.
Then when I finally got the rest of the money from a school auction, I bought the Behringer's from here on Amazon for $241.20 for the pair. They came 5 days before the estimated arrival, which was great, but the boxes were a little beat up and due to the lack of packaging protection the grilles were dented a bit on each. This was easily fixed by taking them off and tapping them out lightly with a hammer.
The speaker materials are amazing and they are rather strongly built for their size, going on 55lbs. I hooked them up and they have amazing sound with good, warm, mid-range and crisp highs with thumping, punchy, lows. I am only powering them with 100watts and using them for mainly home use paired with my father's vintage 70's Electro-Voice S15-3's. They were the only speakers in a good price range with good materials that were truly 3-Way and furthermore had a Cone Mid-Range driver, like the EV's. They pair great with the EV's and I can't wait to use them to DJ a town carnival and School Homecoming float.

I have used these a couple of times for DJing parties, the sound these big boys produce is awesome. You are not going to get bone pounding bass from them, but these are not subwoofers. They sill pump out plenty of bass. Great price too!
